Yixing is a city in Jiangsu province world-famous for its purple-clay teapots — fired from local zi ni, zhu ni, hong ni, duan ni, and lu ni clays whose mineral profiles and porosity make them the historical teapots-of-choice for aged sheng pu-erh and high-roast oolongs. The surrounding Taihu lake region also produces Bi Luo Chun green tea.
