Qun Ti Zhong (Old-Bush Longjing Varietal)
Qún Tǐ Zhǒng · 群体种 (群體種)
Qun Ti Zhong — literally "communal varietal" — is the diverse population of seed-grown bushes that predates the Longjing #43 clonal cultivar in Hangzhou's tea hills. Slower-budding than #43 and more variable in cup profile, it is sought-after by traditionalists who prefer its richer, more complex chestnut sweetness.
