Anhua is a county in Yiyang City, Hunan Province, and one of the historical birthplaces of Chinese dark tea (heicha). Records of tea cultivation here go back to the Tang Dynasty (618–907). Anhua's signature is Fuzhuan brick tea, distinguished by its "golden flowers" (Eurotium cristatum), a probiotic fungus cultivated during fermentation; the county also produces compressed Hua Juan ("thousand-tael") logs.
