Jiangxi is a southeastern Chinese province whose Mt. Lu (Lushan) is the home of Lushan Yunwu — "Cloud and Mist of Mt. Lu" — a green tea documented from the Han dynasty (202 BCE – 220 CE) and elevated to tribute-tea status under the Song (960–1279). The mountain's near-permanent cloud cover gives the tea its name and the cool, diffused-light conditions that concentrate amino acids.
