Lushan Yunwu (Cloud and Mist of Mt. Lu)
Lú Shān Yún Wù · 庐山云雾 (廬山雲霧)
Lushan Yunwu — "Cloud and Mist of Mt. Lu" — is a green tea grown at high altitude on Mt. Lu in northern Jiangxi. Tea cultivation here is documented from the Han dynasty (202 BCE – 220 CE); monks are said to have planted the original bushes. Under the Song dynasty (960–1279) it became a tribute tea. The mountain's near-permanent cloud cover gives the tea its name and the cool diffused-light conditions that concentrate amino acids — the chemical basis of the cup's signature sweetness and long aftertaste.
