Jinggu Dai and Yi Autonomous County, in Pu'er City, Yunnan, is the historical home of Yueguang Bai (Moonlight White). The tea is made from the local Jinggu Da Bai (Yangta Da Bai) large-leaf cultivar and processed without a kill-green (sha qing) step — a long natural wither (typically <24 hours, much shorter than the 36+ hours of Fujian whites) and full air-drying (no oven roast) leave the leaves half-black, half-white in appearance, hence the "moonlight" name.
