Phoenix Mountain (Fenghuang Shan)

Fèng Huáng Shān · 凤凰山 (鳳凰山)

Guangdong · China

The Phoenix (Fenghuang) Mountains rise in Chao'an County of Chaozhou City, Guangdong, in southeastern China. The range's misty climate, mineral-rich soils, and old single-trunk tea trees give the Dancong oolongs their famously layered fragrance and long-lasting aromatics. The principal cultivar population is the Fenghuang Shuixian (Phoenix Narcissus); named clones derived from individual mother trees each have their own aroma identity.
