Lao Ban Zhang is a village in Menghai County whose ancient tea trees produce one of the most sought-after raw pu-erh teas in the world. The 2008 vintage is approaching the inflection where its youthful bitterness has converted to a deep, mineral sweetness with strong hui gan.
