Lincang is a prefecture-level city in southwestern Yunnan and one of the three pillar puer-producing prefectures (alongside Xishuangbanna and Pu'er City). It includes the famous "Four Little Dragons of Lincang" — Bingdao, Xigui, Mangfei, and Daxueshan — each a small high-elevation village or area whose ancient-tree pu-erh leaf is among the most expensive in China. Geographically Lincang sits north of Xishuangbanna; the cool nights and high elevations give the leaf its characteristic cooling sweetness and pronounced cha qi.
