Xinyang Maojian
Xìn Yáng Máo Jiān · 信阳毛尖 (信陽毛尖)
Xinyang Maojian is the signature green tea of Henan province, produced in Xinyang City — Pingqiao District plus Guangshan, Xin and Luoshan counties — at 500–800 m on Mt. Cheyun, Mt. Jiyun and Mt. Tianyun, from the local Xinyang Quntizhong cultivar (a Camellia sinensis var. sinensis landrace). The best leaf is plucked between early April and the Grain Rain (Gu Yu) festival around 20 April. Per Wikipedia it is one of the Ten Famous Chinese Teas; it won a gold medal at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition.
